The 2015 growing season provided perfect weather at bloom, followed by warmer than normal day and nighttime temperatures that helped the fruit ripen early. The Santa Lucia Highlands temperatures reflect the Monterey Bay ocean temperatures. With El Nino in effect, we observed nighttime temperatures into the mid 60's all through the growing season; typical temperatures at night are in the low to mid 50's. The warmer nighttime temps allowed the fruit to continue ripening through the night, resulting in an early harvest.

This light-to-medium bodied Grenache is ruby red in color with aromas of dark fruits berry jams. The palate has similar fruit notes along with black currant, hints of cinnamon, subtle vanilla, and citrus blossom, coupled with silky tannins, and a persistent, lengthy finish.
