Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Welcoming aromas of black cherry and vanilla with hints of caramel and toasted notes from French Oak barrels. On the palate, well-integrated flavors of wild berries, cherries and raspberries lead to notes of rose petals, finishing with soft and elegant tannins.
Vineyard Notes
Grapes for this wine are estate grown in the Arroyo Seco appellation of Monterey County. A hidden gem, located below the Santa Lucia Highlands, these vineyards sit on a gravelly alluvial plain with rocky soils fostering excellent drainage. Cool winds channeling South from Monterey Bay through the Salinas Valley ensure gradual ripening, full development of vibrant fruit flavors and bright acidity.
Production Notes
Small stainless steel fermenters, gently punched down several times daily to encourage extraction of texture, flavor and aromatics. After a light press and skin removal, this wine aged for 11 months in 100% French oak barrels. The oak regime, 33% new, balance neutral, adds depth and complexity to the finished wine.
