This wine was primarily sourced from the Arroyo Seco Canyon vineyard in central Monterey County. The vineyard itself sits nestled in a gorge that cuts into the eastern slopes of the Santa Lucia mountain range. Sheltered from the fast moving winds blown in from Monterey bay, the Petite Sirah grapes grown here develop peak ripeness and extraordinarily dark skins, leading to this wine’s vibrant color, drying tannins and sumptuous aromatics of dark fruit and spice.
A well-structured wine with bright notes of blackberry and a round mid-palate complimented by silky developed tannins.
100% Monterey County
100% Petite Sirah
A perfect Spring and early bud-break/veraison coupled with the typical daytime temperatures and accompanying winds has led to another incredible harvest for the Central Coast. The warmer than average temperatures of the Pacific Ocean led to warmer night-time temperatures causing slightly lower than normal acids and earlier ripening. The warm days and cool nights provided for a longer hang time and ripening period.
Food Pairing Notes
Fresh mint za'atar lamb loin chops with chickpea ragout.
